We present the winners of the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival.
The festival took place between the 10th and the 15th in the city of Yamagata, far north of Tokyo. This biennially festival is considered Asia´s first international documentary film festival. It first edition was held in 1989 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the city. Since then it is considered one of the most important film festivals from Japan.
