Last week the festival announced the films that will be screen during the festival.
The Mumbai Film Festival takes place in Mumbai (India) from the 14th to the 21th of October. The film is divided into nine sections: International Competition for the First Feature Films of Directors, World Cinema, Indian Frame, Dimensions Mumbai, Celebrate Age, Retrospectives, Above the Cut , New Faces in Indian Cinema and The Real Reel.
The festival has its roots in 1997 when a group of people related to the cinema industry decided to create the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) a nonprofit organization which objective was to create an International Film Festival of which the film industry and the country can be proud of.
One year later the MAMI organized the first Mumbai Film Festival with the objective of offering the audience the best movies from India and the rest of the world. In addition they created the Mumbai Film Market an event that takes place during the film festival that offers the possibility to gather local and international distributors and producers to improve local cinema industry.
In this year catalogue three argentines films will be presented: “Historias de Miedo” by Benjamin Naishtat, “La tercera orilla” by Celina Murga and “Refugiado” by Diego Lerman. Other film to highlight are “What’s The Time In Your World? (Dar donyaye to sa’at chand ast?) by Safi Yazdanian, “One on One (Il-dae-il) by Kim ki-Duk, “The Attorney” by Woo-seok Yang, “Still The Water” (Futatsume no mado) by Naomi Kawase, “Over Your Dead Body” by Takashi Miike and “Boyhood” by Richard Linklater.
