We are glad to announce that the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival has started. This event will take place in Manila (Philippines) until the August 10th.

For this edition the festival will present many activities and changes. There will be a book presentation written by Nestor O. Jardin the presinde tof the Cinemalaya Foundation. We will know the winner of the Cinemalaya Logo Contest. The organizers introduced a new new award called Cinemalaya Achievement Award that will recognize filmmakers or organizations for outstanding and distinguished work in Philippine Independent cinema. Finally the festival will present a documentary called “The Cinemalaya 2014 Exhiibit” that shows the last ten years of the festival.
“The road to Cinemalaya X has not been smooth but definitely rewarding, We can’t help but be proud of what our filmmakers have achieved – the outstanding films they produced, the unique subject matters and stories they revealed to us, and the awards and recognition they garnered.” - Nestor O. There are some days left to attend the festival and see the best of the Filipino Independent Films so please make sure you go to the cinemas. Will try to see some of the movies via online and letter talk about them.
