We are glad to announce that the
Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) has started. This cultural event will take place in the beautiful city of Melbourne (Australia) until August 17th.
The festival was established in 1952 and is considered one if the oldest film festivals in Australia. During these eighteen days there will be a showcase of world cinema as well as retrospectives, tributes and discussion programs.
The film to open the festival at the Opening Gala Night was
Predestination directed by the German bothers,
Michael & Peter Spierig. This sci-fi thriller film is based on the short story “All you Zombies” written by Robert A. Heinlein. The film starts Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook and Noah Taylor. “The movie tells the story of a temporal agent on the trail of a terrorist, in an intricate web of twists and secrets. Ethan Hawke carries much of the film with a nuanced performance as the time-travelling agent, backed by an on-form Noah Taylor as his enigmatic boss. Sarah Snook, meanwhile, dazzles with a revelatory and intimate turn, lending both her character and the film an uncommon emotional weight.” (

In the next days I will bring you more information about the festival so stay tuned…
